I saw it out of place at B&N and started to read it. Before I knew it, I was at the end and looking for the second vol to read. Well when I got home, I did some research and found out that vol 2 doesn't come out until Feb 2007, so I was a bit disappointed. I've never read any manga by SooJung Woo but he/she seems to be good. I would give it a shot if you are a manga fan. I am looking forward to the second vol. 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Legend, Vol. 1 (v. 1) (Paperback) What a great story! The art is wonderful, and the plot moves along nicely, I can't wait until I get the fourth volume! By L.M. "Ellie" (CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Legend, Vol. 1 (v. 1) (Paperback) POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW I picked up this book mainly because I loved Kara's artwork from previous titles such as "Demon Diary" and "Angel Diary." Yet it didn't take long for the storytelling of "Legend" to take me along for the ride. It's a tale about Eun-Gyo, a rough and tough tomboy who is kidnapped by the handsome and mysterious No-Ah and is asked to help him save his sister. The journey takes Eun-Gyo to the past, to ancient Korea, where many obstacles block the way before the attempt to save No-Ah's beloved sister can be made. Like I previously mentioned, Kara's artwork is simply gorgeous. The writing is evenly paced and the main characters have plenty of good and bad qualities; No-Ah, who appears to be a typical pretty boy with a tragic past, has his funny moments thanks to Eun-Gyo. So far there isn't a character I dislike yet. I highly recommend this manhwa to readers who enjoy well-written history/fantasy plots accompanied with beautiful art. |
